Boat Houses or House Boats

Custom Homes, using Sips Eco Panels now offer a range of boat houses and house boats. They have established a partnership with one of the country’s leading exponents of house boat and boat house design and construction to provide a well insulated property that offers the perfect river or lakeside living.

Although each one is individually designed and constructed, there is a range of standard shapes and sizes to meet all requirements.

Boat houses are a floating framework with an entrance at one end at water level to allow your boat to be stored underneath your accommodation, protected by side walls or screens.  The accommodation above consists of a large open planned pre-insulated property, which can be divided to create a variety of room sizes.  They normally have a lounge area with panoramic windows to one end to maximise the vistas and take advantage of sunlight. They can also be built with balconies.  A standard range has been developed, but a bespoke design service is available at no extra cost and the finished home can be delivered anywhere in the UK or Europe.

House Boats are a floating house. The accommodation consists of a two or three storey property, the third floor being created in the insulated roof area.  Often the lounge is on the first floor to enable clients to take advantage of the panoramic views.  They can also have inbuilt balconies and accommodation can be arranged to suit clients requirements.

You could moor a boat alongside or gain access through a gang plank or floating pontoon.  A standard range has been developed, but one once again be a bespoke design service is available at no extra cost and of course they can be delivered anywhere in the UK or Europe.
