Living the Dream

While the housing market has slowed considerably during the recession the appetite for self building projects remains undiminished and all informed research shows it is in fact growing. As house builders shelve projects until the good times return and mitigate their costs by reducing their land banks more building plots have become available. What is more, funding for self building projects remains available and ever more creative and sophisticated. More and more people considering building their own home or extending their home are looking to be eco friendly by building it on a sustainable basis. It makes good sense environmentally and in the long term, good sense financially.

Many self builders are choosing timber frames as a basis for the structure, while others are considering SIPS (Structural Insulated Panel System) eco panels.  Both are tried and tested construction methods that make sound ecological sense. We have teamed up with Ubuild-it, a leading timber frame manufacturer and Custom Homes, the country’s largest independent SIPS manufacturer both of which offer a first-class product and design service and which we are pleased to credit with the ecocatalyst quality marque.
